Dancing Around The World - Berlin

Saturday, August 1st, 2015

Dear Friends and supporters of NY2Dance

It's September and Enki and I were in Istanbul the last two weeks and now we just arrived in Bologna with Dancing Around The World. We just finished editing a short video of the experience in Berlin that I would like to share with you here. Our stay in Berlin was very invigorating, we had two weeks of workshops at the beautiful Eden and Dock11 Dance Center. During our stay in Berlin we explored two spaces with the workshop participants mainly the Wall on Bernauer Strasse and the Holocaust Memorial. Throughout our stay in Berlin we explored and filmed the city mostly on our own as well as created small site specific scenes with the workshop participants which was performed and filmed in three different spaces in the city.

We have been on tour since April 12th and I have taught workshops in 9 cities and I performed in Medellin, San Salvador, Tegucigalpa and Lima the solo What Dreams May Come. We have shared with you our experiences of Bogota, Medellin, Lima, Santiago, San Salvador, Pyhayarvi and Tegucigalpa and now happy to share with you Dancing Around The World - Berlin.

I feel so grateful to be able to travel around the world and share my passion of the art of moving and dancing and not just on site but also share these mini films. What an inspiring way to get an insight into a culture and share your passion through movement!!!

We are looking forward to sharing with you our Istanbul experience with Dancentrum next. It's been an inspiring and invigorating as well as tiring experience so far.
