Winter Workshop with Nejla Yatkin
Moving Inward Through Dance
December 4th, 2026 11:45AM hosted by the Chicago Movement Collective

As nature slows down and turns inward, we invite the body to follow its own rhythms of reflection, renewal, and transformation.

Rooted in European contemporary dance, this workshop weaves together low-flying floorwork, improvisation, and somatic practices to awaken awareness, explore fluidity, and deepen our connection to breath, gravity, and movement.

Together, we will prepare the body for the winter season, embracing the beauty of slowing down, grounding, and discovering movement within stillness.

We will conclude by learning a short choreographic phrase that brings our explorations together into a shared dance experience.
