Nejla Yatkin will be teaching Contemporary Class for Professional and Preprofessional Dancers at the International Summer Dance Institute at the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance
from July 7th to the 11th daily at 9 AM at the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble.

Contemporary Dance:

Alignment, Presence & Nature’s Patterns

Join award-winning choreographer Nejla Yatkin for an invigorating contemporary dance workshop designed for preprofessional dancers. This class focuses on refining alignment, deepening presence, and unlocking the vast possibilities of human expression. Drawing inspiration from the elegant patterns found in nature—spirals, waves, lines, and curves—you’ll explore how these organic forms can inform and expand your movement vocabulary.

Through a blend of contemporary technique, improvisation, and mindful exploration, dancers will investigate how breath and alignment foster authentic expression. Engage with exercises that heighten bodily awareness, challenge habitual pathways, and open new channels of creativity. This is an invitation to move beyond steps—toward dancing as a living, breathing dialogue between the inner self and the natural world.
