Nejla Yatkin will speak on the panel "Artists in the Archive" that will take place from 5 to 6:30 on Friday, October 25 at Columbia College. The other speakers are myself and Pol Pi, a trans artist who has revisited Dore Hoyer's Affectos Humanos. Franz-Anton Cramer, a dance writer based in Berlin, will moderate.

The panel will be part of the festival "Between Gestures," organized by the Goethe Institute and the French consulate and scheduled for Oct 24-29. Four artists will appear--Trajal Harrell, Pol Pi, Noe Soulier, and Ola Maciejewska--at Columbia and the MCA, and they all will give workshops and participate in panel discussions. The festival is designed to give a snapshot of contemporary dance and performance in Europe, and to engage Chicago artists and audiences with the questions of artistic research, the archive and reenactment that ground these artists' works.
